Camry not among top-rated midsize cars

The latest crash-test results are in, and while 10 moderately priced midsize cars earned the highest rating from the nonprofit Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, one best-seller did not.
Rated “Top Safety Pick Plus” were the Honda Accord, Chrysler 200, Dodge Avenger, Ford Fusion, Kia Optima, Nissan Altima, Subaru Legacy and Outback, Suzuki Kashai, and the Volkswagon Passat.
The popular and newly redesigned Toyota Camry ranked poorly for overlap protection and did not earn the top safety rating. Read the IIHS news release.
