France-based Airbus is running new ads that claim Boeing stretches the truth about the performance of its new 737 Max and 747-8.
In the ad, a stretched Pinocchio-like 737 “nose” drives the allegation home.
Boeing and Airbus are battling for aircraft sales and deliveries, and Airbus is set to lose its delivery lead this year for the first time in nearly 10 years. Boeing claims its 737 Max, set to roll out in 2017, costs 8% less on a per-seat basis than Airbus’ new A320neo.
